No Prep Auditory Comprehension Stories

Tired of prepping countless materials for your therapy sessions? This awesome no prep activity is so easy, all you have to do is print and go! This activity targets story comprehension and answering WH-questions. Contents: ★ One WH-Questions poster in both color and black-and-white for easy printing. ★ 10 Level 1 Stories – these stories contain simple language and visuals for support. ★ 10 Level 2 Stories – these stories contain higher vocabulary and allow the student to write in his/her own answer. Visuals are not included at this level. Instructions: ★ The SLP should select the appropriate difficulty level for the student(s) based on his/her goals and level of development. ★ Level 1: The SLP should read the story aloud to the student, ask the supporting questions, and wait for a correct answer. If the student struggles to supply the answer, the SLP can give the student a choice by showing the three visuals contained for each question. The student can then color (or dot with a BINGO dauber) the correct answer. ★ Level 2: The student (or SLP if the student demonstrates reading difficulties) should read the paragraph aloud. Provide discussion regarding difficult vocabulary words. Once the paragraph is finished, the student should complete the following questions by writing his or her answer in the spaces provided on each worksheet. This portion can be completed independently depending on the students reading and writing abilities. Read the student’s answers to the questions and ensure discussion occurs for any incorrect answers. ★ Instruct your students to refer to the WH-Questions Poster as needed for extra support. These worksheets are ideal for speech and language therapy sessions or homework activities.
