Supervisor: Ms. Kimberly Judge, Director of Special Education Employment Period: 10 months Employment Status: Full-time Salary: Commensurate with experience Start Date: August 2025 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Completes diagnostic batteries to determine articulation, voice, fluency, language, and pragmatic disorders. Prepares reports with testing results, recommendations for remediation and therapy plans appropriate to individual needs. Develops learning goals and objectives and guides the instructional process toward achievement of these goals. Responsible for new entrant screening of all students new to Hampton City Schools throughout the school year. Participates in annual child find for children ages 2-5; assesses speech/language/hearing. Assesses the accomplishments of the student and provides progress reports. Counsels colleagues, students, and/or parents on a regular basis concerning student needs and progress. Completes all required documentation for Medicaid billing. License in Speech Language Pathology. Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Good organizational, human relations, and communication skills. Good knowledge of special education laws and regulations. Good knowledge of speech and language diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Good knowledge of policies and procedures of the assigned campus, including rules of student life and classroom procedures. Ability to prepare and report speech and language diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Ability to use technology in therapeutic procedures. Ability to instruct students with speech and language disorders. Ability to function as a member of a campus faculty while providing specialized therapeutic services to identified students. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, parents, teachers, campus and district staff. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
