About Education for Change Public Schools (EFC): Founded in 2005, EFC is a charter management organization operating seven schools in Oakland's Fruitvale and Elmhurst neighborhoods. Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join our team immediately. In this full-time role, you will work under the supervision of licensed Speech-Language Pathologists to provide direct therapy services to students. Your efforts will contribute to the development and implementation of individualized treatment plans, aiding students in overcoming speech and language challenges. Key Responsibilities: - Therapy Implementation: Deliver direct speech and language therapy to students, adhering to documented treatment plans. - Documentation: Maintain accurate records of student performance, including charts and reports. - Assessment Assistance: Support Speech-Language Pathologists during student assessments by preparing materials and performing clerical duties. - Material Preparation: Develop and adapt therapy materials and equipment for classroom and therapy activities. - Collaboration: Engage with educators, parents, and other professionals to support student success. Qualifications: - Associate degree from an accredited SLPA program or a bachelor's degree in speech-language pathology or communication disorders. - Valid California SLPA license. - Minimum of 3 years of experience as an SLPA, treating speech, language, and cognitive-communication disorders in school-aged children. - Experience working with diverse communities, including English Language Learners. - Strong communication and organizational skills. - Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team. - Valid California driver's license and reliable transportation. - Spanish bilingual skills are preferred.
