About the Role:
- Teach a high-needs high school class serving students with severe disabilities, typically 8–12 students with paraeducator support
- Deliver instruction in functional academics, communication, social-emotional learning, daily living, and vocational skills
- Lead compliant, student-centered IEPs with measurable goals and consistent progress monitoring
- Collaborate closely with related services teams (SLP, OT, PT), school psychologists, and general education partners
- Implement AAC, visual supports, and evidence-based behavior strategies in alignment with BIPs
- Coordinate transition planning and work-based learning, including community-based instruction where appropriate
- Provide clear direction, coaching, and schedules for paraeducators to ensure consistent student support
- Use Liri AI to reduce paperwork so you can focus on students
What You’ll Need:
- California Education Specialist Credential in Special Education (Severe Disabilities or equivalent authorization preferred)
- Experience supporting high school students with complex needs, including AAC and behavior supports
- Strong collaboration, adaptability, and a commitment to dignity, safety, and inclusion
- Comfort leading teams of paraeducators and coordinating with families and service providers
Compensation and Benefits:
- Hourly: $55–$58/hour based on experience
