Beautifully You Speech Therapy's goal is to identify the unique and individualized communication needs of the pediatric community we serve and support that market with routine speech therapy treatment intentionally prescribed that consists of ethical, evidenced-based, culturally competent, expert recommended techniques while valuing a holistic approach (i.e., emotional regulation, social connection, multi-disciplinary collaboration).
Beautifully You Speech Therapy ("Be You") was founded by April Jackson, an ASHA-Certified speech-language pathologist (SLP) with 8+ years of licensed expertise in the science of communication. Prior to earning her master's degree, April entered the field of speech-language pathology in 2013 as an SLPA. Since then, she has cultivated extensive expertise evaluating, diagnosing, and treating speech, language, communication disorders as well as feeding difficulties while simultaneously utilizing culturally aware, evidenced-based practices which include her extensive experience working with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). Through years of clinical management experience, April has developed skills in businesses management, customer service, and employee retention. In recognition of exceptional commitment to lifelong learning through earning 7.0 ASHA CEUs (70 hours)
The Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) is granted by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) in both speech-language pathology and audiology. It is the only universally recognized credential for the professions.
Only individuals who meet specific requirements may obtain the CCC. Holders of the CCC must abide by the ASHA Code of Ethics, which incorporates the highest standards of integrity and ethical principles.
Every individual who holds the CCC has completed the following:
-Earned a graduate degree
-Completed a minimum of 30 semester hours of professional course work,
-Taken at least 27 semester hours in the basic sciences
-Earned at least 21 graduate credits,
Completed a minimum of 350 clock-hours of clinical practicum under a certified supervisor
-Completed 36 weeks of supervised clinical fellowship
-Passed a national examination
Maintaining the CCC is contingent upon participation in 30 contact hours of professional development activities every three years.
