Maria De Leon is a bicultural/bilingual Speech-Language Pathologist with a specialty in Augmentative Alternative Communication (AAC). She received her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) and her Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology at San Francisco State University (SFSU), earning a specialization certificate in culturally responsive AAC. Maria works at a non-profit organization in Southern CA as an SLP conducting AAC evaluations, trials, and coaching/trainings. She has over ten years in the special education sector as an SLP, response to intervention (RTI) teacher, and early intervention specialist. Maria strives to give back to communities, focusing on evidence-based practices and supporting individuals with complex communication needs.
