Michelle Boisvert

Michelle received her Ph.D., in Communication Disorders from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, MA in 2012. Throughout her doctoral studies, she investigated the use of online speech and language therapy or telepractice. She examined this approach to determine if it is an appropriate method of delivery of speech and language services to individuals with autism spectrum disorders. Overall, her findings suggest that a telepractice service delivery method is an effective and valid way to provide interventions to students with ASD. She has published several articles in peer-reviewed journals on the topic of telepractice and is the former editor for the Perspectives of Telepractice, a journal that is published by ASHA's SIG 18.

Since graduating from her doctoral studies, she started the company, NetSLP which is a division of WorldTide, Inc. NetSLP provides highly effective and interactive online services to students all over the world. Dr. Boisvert also provides training on the use of telepractice and has spoken at national and international conferences on this topic. She also provides professional training on entrance and exit criteria for speech and language services for students in US public schools, specialist and teacher collaboration methods, and caseload management strategies.
